Qatar is now selling non-alcoholic beer ONLY at 2022 World Cup matches
Well, this should really come as no surprise to anyone who’s been following The Liberty Line. News from the 2022 World Cup broke this morning that Qatar has completely reversed course and will now ONLY sell non-alcoholic at the stadiums.
Budweiser, a FIFA sponsor for over 30 years which pays the organization more than $100M per World Cup cycle, won’t be allowed to serve you beer in or around the stadiums here in Qatar.
Again, if you keep scrolling, this is a laundry list of everything that ridiculous thing that’s happened in Qatar dating back to early June 2022. The 2022 World Cup just continues to get worse.
I repeat, there will be ZERO alcoholic drinks sold across the eight stadiums inside Qatar hosting matches.
In September, Qatar had said it would permit ticketed fans to buy alcoholic beer at World Cup soccer matches starting three hours before kickoff and for one hour after the final whistle, but not during the match.
Now, they are completely changing course and just nixing all alcohol sales completely.
Hate to be that guy but….told ya so?
2022 World Cup Disaster Rundown
Danish Broadcast Shut Down by Qatari Officials on Live TV
“You invited the whole world to come here, why can’t we film? It’s a public place.”
That literally is the million dollar question. Why would Qatar even want to host the World Cup in the first place if they are going to be overly strict about EVERYTHING? It makes zero sense, right?
The World Cup is supposed to be a showcase of the host country and a melting pot of countries getting together to host the biggest sporting event in the world. Countries are willing to dish out insane amounts of money to have a chance to host the World Cup and somehow, Qatar won this bid and is now ruining everything for the entire world.
Anyways, here’s a rundown of all the bad shit happening in Qatar if you missed the original posts from months ago.
Back in June, I wrote about how Qatar enacted a sex ban, s well as no drinking or partying during the World Cup. Violating these laws would land you in prison.
FIFA World Cup Sex Ban Due to Qatar “Laws”
- No Sex Outside of Marriage
- No Homosexuality (Sorry England)
- No Public Displays of Affection
- No Drinking or Partying after Matches
At the time, FIFA sent out a memo with the laws in place in Qatar for the cup and failure to comply would land you in jail for up to seven years. They were extremely clear that there would be no leniency.
From there, it was announced that Qatar would NOT be serving alcohol inside stadiums during the games and that if you wanted to have a drink, alcohol would only be available in restricted timeframes elsewhere.
Qatar’s 2022 World Cup Stadiums Will Be Alcohol-Free
“At stadiums, the plans are still being finalised, but the current discussion is to allow fans to have beer upon arrival and when leaving stadium, but beer won’t be served during the match or inside the stadium bowl,” via Reuters
In early September, we learned that Qatar would be cutting down on anyone traveling into their country with strict rules about what people were allowed to bring with them (jail time for bringing alcohol and restricted items), while making it mandatory to submit to geolocating while inside their country. This was put in place while the government made it MANDATORY for civilians to work at World Cup events in the form of military service. They summoned diplomats from overseas to return to their country to work as well.
Qatar has called up hundreds of civilians, including diplomats summoned back from overseas, for mandatory military service operating security checkpoints at World Cup stadiums, according to a source and documents seen by Reuters.

If that wasn’t bad enough, Qatar then said that they wouldn’t even be televising World Cup matches at restaurants, hotels, and other locations inside their country.
[Source] – Football fans who have paid out huge sums for hotel rooms, apartments and villas at the Qatar World Cup face arriving to find no live TV coverage of the tournament there.
That Mail on Sunday understands that a number of hotels in Doha have decided not to screen games, having been told they will have to pay host broadcaster BeIN Sports around 100,000 Qatari riyals (£24,000) for every restaurant or bar which shows them. BeIN Sports said it could not disclose commercial arrangements with hotel and accommodation providers. But it indicated that it had to recoup some of the huge fees for tournament broadcasting rights, as well as its investment in production and technical facilities.
As of things couldn’t get any worse, images were then released today of Qatar’s fan village, which is literally shipping containers and bean bags set up in front of a single screen.
At this point, you don’t even have to take my word for it. FIFA and Sepp Blatter came out this week and literally admitted that Qatar hosting the World Cup was a massive mistake.
[Source] – And now in an interview in his homeland, Swiss fixer Blatter, ousted after the FBI raids on Fifa in 2015, pinned the blame directly on ex-Uefa boss and one-time protege Platini.
Blatter said: “The choice of Qatar was a mistake.
“At the time, we actually agreed in the Executive Committee that Russia should get the 2018 World Cup and the USA that of 2022. “But a week before the 2010 Fifa Congress, Michel Platini called me and said our plan would no longer work.
“He told me he had been invited to the Elysée Palace, where then French President Sarkozy had just had lunch with the Crown Prince of Qatar.
“Sarkozy said to Platini: ‘See what you and your colleagues from Uefa can do for Qatar when the World Cup is awarded.’
“So I couldn’t count on Platini anymore. It came out exactly like this: Thanks to Platini’s four votes and his people, the World Cup went to Qatar instead of the USA. That’s the truth.”
So yeah, I’m going to gloat a little bit and say that I was all over Qatar being a bad idea months ago and now everyone in the world realizes it. The World Cup should have been in the USA this year but now we have. to wait until 2026 before the best world event planet Earth has to offer comes to the land of the free.
This is why I wrote an article about how America is back and when the World Cup returns to North America in 2026 and is played in Philadelphia, it’s going to be the biggest party the world has ever seen.
Enough with these dumb Arab countries and their ridiculous rules. Sorry. It’s 2022 and if you can’t treat people with common decency then you’re on my shit list. Basic civil rights laws need to be enacted before you’re allowed to host anything and welcome people from all over the world. That goes for China, Russia, and certainly goes for Qatar.
Land of the free baby, you can fuck whoever you want, whenever you want. Hold hands, make out in front of the Liberty Bell, head over to Delilahs after a match.
Literally whatever you want to do is fair game and that, people of the world, is the way it should be.
