RGIII: “Right now, Jalen Hurts is the MVP”
Jalen Hurts’ MVP hype train is ramping up. After the Eagles QB racked up 310 total yards and two touchdown in last Sunday night’s win over Green Bay, his odds to take home the MVP award have continued to rise.
National pundits have been singing Hurts’ praises all season. Former Washington QB and current ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III is just the latest.
On a recent episode of The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, Griffin was loud and clear about his thoughts on how Hurts has played this season.

“Right now, Jalen Hurts is the MVP,” Griffin said. “After what he just did with 157 yards rushing and willing them to victory, he’s the MVP.”
As it stands, Chiefs signal caller Patrick Mahomes is the odds-on favorite to win MVP at -160, per DraftKings Sportsbook. Hurts is hot on his trail, sitting at +350, followed by Tua Tagovailoa (+500) and Josh Allen (+1400).
“The Dolphins are 8-0 with Tua Tagovailoa when he starts and finishes a game. They’re 0-3 when he doesn’t. That sounds like an MVP to me,” Griffin continued. “But based on what Jalen just did, he leapfrogged both those guys to be No. 1.”
At 10-1, Hurts’ team holds the best record in the NFL. While he has a ton of talent around him, Hurts has been masterfull all season long. Through 12 weeks, the Eagles quarterback has accumulated 2,560 passing yards along with 597 on the ground. He’s completing over 67 percent of his passses and has posted a passer rating of 105.6 on the year, all while tallying 25 total touchdowns.
If Hurts continues his winning ways and his Eagles capture the first seed in the NFC playoffs, it’ll be difficult to deny the gunslinger his MVP.
Jalen Hurts and his Eagles will have a tough test this weekend when the AFC South leading Tennessee Titans come to town for a Week 13 matchup. Another win against a strong opponent will only strengthen Hurts’ MVP candidacy even further.
