Injury News: Giants RB Saquon Barkley’s status for Week 14 vs. Eagles “is in doubt”

During his Friday morning press conference, New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll stated that star running back Saquon Barkley’s availability for this week’s contest is still uncertain.
Barkley appeared on the team’s injury report Thursday with a sore neck. Today, Daboll confirmed Saquon’s status for Sunday, “is in doubt.”

Giants beat writer Pat Leonard continued his Twitter thread on Barkley, writing that Saquon will be a limited participant during Friday’s practice.
Barkley was seen on the Giants’ practice field participating in individual drills.
ESPN NFL reporter Jordan Raanan, who covers the Giants for the outlet, added that he would be surprised if Barkley doesn’t suit up for this pivotal NFC East matchup against Philly.
Barkley is, without a doubt, New York’s most dangerous offensive weapon. The former Nittany Lion got off to a hot start in 2022, racking up 726 rushing yards through the first seven games, carrying his team to a remarkable 6-1 record. In the five games since the team’s 6-1 start, New York has gone 1-3-1 and Barkley has eclipsed the 100-yard mark only once.
Even though he’s been inefficient over the past five games, Barkley is the Giants’ only hope for an upset victory over Philadelphia.
New York will likely wait as long as possible before giving a straight answer on Barkley’s availability this weekend. We probably won’t get a concrete answer until game day.
