Sam Fuld took over as general manager last December and played a big part in luring in Kyle Schwarber, Nick Castellanos, Trea Turner, and more. Fuld was asked about his contract extension and had nothing but praise for the Phillies organization.
“The Phillies have been nothing short of first-class in my time here. I’m thrilled to continue to work for such a tremendous organization in a city that my family and I love so much. We have an exceptional group of players, staff, and employees that I’m excited to grow with over the next few years”

Velandia played in the league from ’97-’08 and took over the Assistant GM role, alongside Ned Rice, on the same day as Fuld. Ned Rice has been in the organization since 2016, being an assistant GM alongside Matt Klentak for many years.
The Phils front office has really taken a turn over the last few years, ever since the hiring of Dave Dombrowski. Fuld, Velandia, and Rice will all be here through 2025, while Dombrowski is extended through 2027.
