Eagles Injury Report: Updates on Jalen Hurts, Josh Sweat, Lane Johnson, and more

Amidst their bye week, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is holding workout sessions to keep his players fresh.

Pads were on in practice for the first time in months, similar to how the 2017 team practiced during their Super Bowl run. Here are some notes from the portion that was available to reporters:

DE Josh Sweat

Sweat returned to practice following his scary neck injury two weeks ago against the Saints. A promising sign that he’ll be available for the postseason.

QB Jalen Hurts

Hurts participated in practice but appeared to be limited as he wasn’t throwing much. The Eagles seem to be easing him into the week after playing through a sore shoulder vs. the Giants. Reporters spoke with QB1 afterward, where Hurts stated he’s feeling better and “taking it day by day.”

“That name is that name. The man will be there.” — Jalen Hurts on how close he’ll be to the Jalen Hurts people are used to seeing.

OT Lane Johnson

Johnson didn’t practice but was working on the field and rehabbing with a trainer. The four-time Pro Bowler suffered an abdominal tear on Christmas Eve vs. Dallas and will attempt to play through the pain.

WR AJ Brown, CB Avonte Maddox, DE Robert Quinn

No practice for Brown, Maddox, or Quinn. Brown said he was fine after practice and was likely held out for precautionary reasons. Maddox remains in a walking boot after suffering a significant toe injury in the Eagles’ loss to Dallas.

P Arryn Siposs

Siposs suffered an ankle sprain after attempting to run for a first down on a blocked punt and has missed the last four games. Siposs has since got his walking boot off and has a chance to play in the Divisional Round.
