AJ Brown addressed the speculation that he was hurt and/or unhappy in last Saturday’s playoff matchup vs. New York, stating that he’s “good to go.” Brown wasn’t listed on Wednesday’s injury report. CB Avonte Maddox returned to practice for the first time in nearly a month, a good sign that he could be available on Sunday.
As for the 49ers, they had several players sit out of practice on Wednesday
- RB Christian McCaffrey (calf) — DNP
- WR Deebo Samuel (ankle) — DNP
- RB Elijah Mitchell (groin) — DNP
- QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) — DNP
- CB Ambry Thomas (ankle) — Limited
- DE Charles Omenihu (oblique) — Limited
Kyle Shanahan stated today that multiple starters would miss today’s practice but are expected to play in the NFC Championship Game.
“I expect them to, but there are no guarantees,” Shanahan said. “Especially it being the NFC Championship Game, I think there’s a better chance they will be ready since there is nothing guaranteed after this. Hopefully. We will keep our fingers crossed.”
Regarding Charles Omenihu, Shanahan said they “felt very good about letting the legal process play out by itself” and that he’ll play this week if healthy.
“There’s nothing to worry about”
