Furkan Korkmaz has requested a trade ahead of Thursday’s 3 PM deadline

According to Keith Pompey from the Inky, Furkan Korkmaz has requested a trade from the Sixers ahead of Thursday’s NBA Trade Deadline.
Furkan Korkmaz Requests Trade from Sixers
Korkmaz’s request doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise, as the Sixers’ 6-year guard has played in just 25 games for the team this season. Furkan was hurt for a portion of the first few months but hasn’t necessarily excelled in his opportunities, averaging just 3.8 points in 10.2 MPG.
Furkan Korkmaz has appeared in just three of the Sixers’ last 12 games and is averaging just two minutes played. Korkmaz is in the second year of his three-year, $15M contract and has found himself on the outside looking into Doc Rivers’ rotation.
Korkmaz requested a trade back in the 2018-19 season, but the request was never fulfilled. Korkmaz has now requested to be moved once again. With the Sixers keeping their eyes on many bigs around the league, including Jarred Vanderbilt and Nerlens Noel, it seems like a deal involving Furkan could be coming ahead of Thursday’s deadline.
The Sixers broke their 8-game road win streak in ugly fashion last night, blowing a 21-point lead to the New York Knicks. They’re back in action one last time before Thursday, as they meet with the East-leading Boston Celtics at 7:30 EST on Wednesday night.
Good on Korkmaz to request a trade. Proud of him.
