Jordan Mailata: The field was like ‘playing on a water park’ and was terrible for both teams

Jordan Mailata had some choice words for the field conditions following the Eagles’ Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jordan Mailata: “It was like playing on a water park.”

Jordan Mailata said the field was “terrible.” He was sure to point out it was terrible for both teams, and Eagles/Chiefs players were talking with each other during TV timeouts about how bad it was. He said, “It was like playing on a water park.”

Look. We’re not for making excuses; that’s not the point of this article. But any football fan who watched the Super Bowl knows that the conditions of the field were absolutely unacceptable for the biggest stage in all of pro sports.

To make it worse, this field was a two-year process. $800,000 spent on a piece of shit field.

The NFL has spent two years preparing the grass for tonight's field at the Super Bowl.

The grass was grown at a local sod farm in Phoenix.

It was installed two weeks ago, and the field has been rolled out each morning for daily sunshine.

There were multiple occasions of players slipping and sliding all over the field last night, but the most prominent one was this video of Josh Sweat and Haason Reddick both slipping on the same spot of the field on opposite sides.
