Eagles’ Week 1 matchup in New England is currently the most expensive NFL ticket for opening weekend

For any Eagles fans planning on making the trek up to New England for the team’s Week 1 matchup with the Patriots, it’s not going to be a cheap trip.
On the secondary market (i.e. Vivid Seats, StubHub, etc.), the average cost of an Eagles vs. Patriots ticket sits at $807. Here’s a quick look at the cheapest tickets I could find on some of these outlets:
- Vivid Seats: $550
- StubHub: $576
- Ticketmaster: $620
- Seat Geek: $529
- Gametime: $526
On average, the second-most expensive ticket for Week 1 is 49ers vs. Cowboys matchup, which is currently priced at $501.
There are a few reasons as to why the tickets for this contest are so pricy. First and foremost, the Eagles are a hot commodity at the moment. Fresh off a Super Bowl loss, Philadelphia is still primed to be the best team in the NFC this upcoming season. Jalen Hurts will be an early MVP candidate and they’re one of the most exciting teams to watch.
While New England doesn’t really have that excitement factor, the organization is planning a Tom Brady appreciation ceremony for this Week 1 game. As we know, the Patriots have been just meh since Brady’s departure. Now that he’s officially retired – and for good this time, it appears – New England fans will flock to the stadium to see their King one last time.
For Eagles fans, this is a great opportunity to rain on the Patriots’ parade and I know there are plenty of fans who want to take part in it. Luckily, buying a ticket off of one of these secondary sites isn’t the only way to make your way into Gillette Stadium.

Travel with Phans of Philly to every Eagles away game
If you’re new to The Liberty Line, let me let you in on a little secret – we go to at least one Eagles away game every season. It’s not because we’re rich and have money to just throw around on trips. It’s because of our pals over at Phans of Philly.
Phans of Philly makes every away game feel like a home game thanks to their remarkably low prices on travel accommodations for fans. They take care of everything. From hotel stays to plane tickets to game tickets, Phans of Philly offers travel packages for every away game. And best believe their prices for this Eagles vs. Patriots game will be much more reasonable than what you’ll find on the secondary market.
They already have travel packages for Los Angeles, Dallas, and both New York game against the Jets and Giants. Their package for the New England game will be released Monday night, so make sure you’re first in-line by clicking here and reserving your spot.
Last season, we joined Phans of Philly in Arizona as Philadelphia faced the Cardinals. We double-dipped with the Philadelphia Phillies Wild Card series, which Phans of Philly miraculously planned and hosted TWO watch parties for The Fightins in a matter of hours. The entire experience was fantastic and we met HUNDREDS of Eagles and Phillies fans on the trip that we still keep in touch with today.Â
We hope to see all of you degenerate Eagles fans at every away game throughout the year.
