WATCH: Rickie Fowler’s perfect reaction to heckler after bogeying seventh hole at the US Open in Round 2

Quick US Open and Rickie Fowler update for the golfers reading The Liberty Line.
On Thursday, Rickie Fowler and Xander Schauffele both made history during the first round of the US Open on at The Los Angeles Country Club.
Fowler and Schauffele both shot 8-under 62s during the first round which were the lowest scores for a round in US Open History.
Rickie Fowler Round One
In the second round yesterday, Fowler shot 2-under par to hold his lead at the US Open by a stroke over fellow American Wyndham Clark (-9). On the seventh hole par-3, Fowler delivered the perfect reaction to a heckler after leaving a putt short and settling for bogey on the hole.
Someone in the gallery yelled “WHAT ARE YOU DOING” after Fowler missed the putt and Rickie, being the man that he is, simply looked over and shrugged, saying “I don’t know”.
Rickie Fowler’s Perfect Response to Heckler
What a dumb thing to say in the first place. Who in their right minds would chirp at the leader of the US Open for missing a putt while currently at -11 for the tournament?
I’ll give the guy the benefit of the doubt and say he had a few too many beverages and didn’t realize how loud he was actually talking.
Regardless, Fowler played it off perfectly.
In comparison, Adam Hadwin threw his club into the woods yesterday before taking an embarrassing walk to go retrieve it.
Side Note: His tweet was pretty funny. His only saving grace from tossing a club.
Rickie Fowler then birdied number eight right after the incident. Fowler had much more of an “up and down” round yesterday after his historic round one. He bogeyed the first two holes on the back nine to fall back to a three-way tie for the lead at nine under par.
Thankfully, he bounced back with a birdie on number 12 to get back to double digits under par while taking a one-shot lead into Round 3 today.
With so many chances at winning a major followed by a complete rebuild of his golf swing that banned him into golf irrelevancy for a few years, Fowler is BACK this season and has been playing great golf again.
Still, a Major Championship is still missing on Fowler’s resume. At 34-years old and entering his “golf prime” maybe now is the time we finally see Rickie Fowler rip-off a few big victories on tour.
Fowler and Clark will tee up at 6:40PM EST today out in Los Angeles.
