The MLB scoreboard roast era continued over the weekend with the Miami Marlins shredding the Detroit Tigers

The Miami Marlins hosted the Detroit Tigers at LoanDepot Park over the weekend and put on one hell of a troll job on the Jumbotron.
The Fish are currently in the hunt for one of the three highly contested NL Wild Card spots, and will open up a 4-game series tonight at LoanDepot Park against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Over the weekend, they took 2 of 3 from the Tigers and trolled them all over their scoreboard with different facts about Detroit.
Marlins Scoreboard Roasts city of Detroit, Tigers
“Since 1950 – Detroit has lost 65% of its population”
“Only 2 actual Tigers live in the Detroit Zoo”
Looks like we are in the era of scoreboard taunting.
We have seen it on countless occasions across Major League Baseball this season, and even witnessed it firsthand at PNC Park over the weekend as the Pittsburgh Pirates took 2 of 3 from the Philadelphia Phillies.

Just last week, the Milwaukee Brewers decided to taunt Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz, who nearly hit a home run in the top of the first inning but was robbed by Joey Wiemer.
In his next at bat, the Brewers scoreboard trolled De La Cruz after getting robbed by Wiemer.
“Almost hit a home run in the first inning…but didn’t”.

That turned out to be a mistake as Elly smashed a 456-foot home run out of the stadium.
The Phillies will open up a 4-game series tonight against the Marlins in Miami.
Taijuan Walker (11-4, 4.06 ERA) takes the mound against Edward Cabrera (5-6, 4.74 ERA) tonight in Miami. Phillies could make some moves but will definitely have to clean things up after what we all witnessed over the weekend.
