Eagles News: LB Shaun Bradley will miss entire 2023 season after tearing Achilles in preseason opener

The one thing no Eagles fan wants to see during the preseason is serious injuries. Unfortunately, the team suffered a big loss to their special teams unit in their preseason opener Saturday night against Baltimore.
Eagles LB Shaun Bradley was carted off the field during the third quarter of Saturday’s action, and it was apparent right away that the injury was serious.
On Sunday, we found out the severity of Bradley’s injury – a torn Achilles that will end his 2023 season before it even got started. Bradley took to Instagram to break the news.

Bradley, 26, has been a pivotal special teams contributor for the Eagles ever since he was drafted back in 2020. He logged 69 percent of the team’s special team snaps last season, and has recorded 45 tackles across his three-year career.
Potential replacements for the Eagles LB
The Eagles should have no issues with depth at the linebacker position, even after Bradley’s injury. The team signed two veterans to the position last week, Myles Jack and Zach Cunningham. Where the team will miss Bradley’s services, however, is in the special teams department.
There are few young players who could step up in his absence. Some of his fellow linebackers like Christian Elliss or undrafted rookie Ben VanSumeren. There’s also plenty of young corners the team could utilize in an increased role on special teams. Eli Ricks, Mario Goodrich, or Greedy Williams all come to mind.
