Jake Elliott ‘not a fan’ of DeVonta Smith’s hilarious new nickname for him

DeVonta Smith officially dubbed Jake Elliott “Chicken Little” after his overtime 54-yard game-winning against the Commanders. His reasoning was simple: “You seen Chicken Little? That’s what he looks like.”

When Jake Elliott caught wind of the new nickname, he was quick to shut it down:

Elliott further expressed his discontent with the moniker on Instagram in a direct reply to Smitty on Instagram. Needless to say, I think Smitty might need to come up with something fresh to keep Elliott

But… does he really need a new one? In terms of lookalikes, Chicken Little wouldn’t be my first pick for Elliott.

Plus, when it comes to cojones, Elliott and Little aren’t even in the same stratosphere. If the sky’s falling around Jake, it’s probably because he put a football through it.

At the same time, though, I have a hard time disagreeing with DeVonta Smith on anything. He could tell me Jake Elliott looks like The Rock, and I’d be like, “Yeah, you know what, I definitely see it a bit. You’re so cool DeVonta.”

This reel from NBCS Philly included some visual aids, and I can’t help but find them a bit compelling. What do you think?

While Jake Elliott will surely be campaigning for an updated sobriquet, the result of his efforts remains uncertain. If he keeps hitting game-winners like this, though, he just might be successful in that endeavor.

Then again, if a dude with a pink silky tells you you’re Chicken Little, you’re Chicken Little.
