Rams’ Aaron Donald shares his thoughts on Eagles ‘Tush Push’ play ahead of Week 5 matchup
If there’s one man capable of stifling the Eagles ‘Tush Push’ play, it’s probably LA Rams’ DT Aaron Donald.
This week, he opened up about how his team can stop the near unstoppable play.
Aaron Donald on the ‘Tush Push’
“You got to be stout in the middle,” Donald said. “Obviously, offensive line tries to get as low as you can. I think it all starts from the center you get under his pads and pop him up and then guys crowd the ball. You can stop it, but it is definitely tough.”
As we all know, the Eagles have essentially perfected the QB sneak over the past year and a half. Through four games this season, the Eagles have converted 10-of-11 QB sneak attempts, averaging out to a 91 percent conversion rate. As for the rest of the NFL, they’ve converted just 68 percent of their ‘Tush Push’ attempts.
Aaron Donald will have his work cut out for him this week. After a down year ini 2022, he’s bounced back in a big way this season, racking up 16 combined tackles and 2.5 sacks. The battle in the trenches between Donald and the interior of the Eagles offensive line will more than likely decide the outcome.
