Jason Kelce announced as “Sexiest Man Alive” finalist for 2023

Yes, you read that right. People announced Jason Kelce as one of the finalists for their annual “Sexiest Man Alive” award for 2023. He and his family have become media darlings over the past couple of years, and this is just another feather in the cap to go alongside his Christmas album and Amazon Prime documentary.

Pedro Pascal, Timothy Chalamay (fuck off with that name), and Lenny Kravitz round out the list of six finalists. It’s a pretty strong list, as it’s got something for everybody.

In all honesty, looking at this list, it’s not out of the question for Jason Kelce to take home the title. He’s sexy in every sense of the word; he’s masculinity personified. He’s a rising star, and People has done well to latch onto him. Hell, it got me caring about who wins Sexiest Man Alive.

Jamie Foxx is probably the favorite. He has multi-generational appeal while being a triple-threat entertainer. He’s in rarified air with the likes of Nathan Lane and Cherry Jones and is good at pretty much anything he does. The dude is just unfair.

If you’re under 40, Lenny Kravitz may not do it for you, but there are a lot of Delco moms swooning at the mere thought of him. Forbidden love is a powerful thing. Plus, they’re the only people who read actual magazines these days.

Meanwhile, Timothy appeals to the powerful young white women demographic, which can move mountains on social media like few other groups in this country. This guy is pretty much the exact opposite of Jason Kelce in every way, which really shows the depth and breadth of the finalists. He’s not a dark horse, but I think there are sexier men on this list.

Usher is definitely only on this list because of the viral clips of him singing to women in the front row of his shows. And I must say, that’s a damn good reason.

I used to work with this guy Mark who told me I looked like Pedro Pascal before a meeting one time, so this is pretty big for me as well. Granted, we worked remotely the entire time, and he never saw me in a framer larger than four square inches, but still, pretty sweet.

It’s a different list than the years when George Clooney and Brad Pitt were winning gold, and it serves as long overdue confirmation of what being sexy can be. Will Jason Kelce win? Maybe. Should he? Absolutely.
