WATCH: Eagles coaching staff makes Jalen Hurts do ball security drills after recent fumbling issues
On Thursday, the Philadelphia Eagles held a padded practice instead of their typical walkthrough. During said practice, the coaching staff had players run through ball security drills, probably because of their three lost fumbles on Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys.
Among those players was QB1, Jalen Hurts, who was responsible for the first lost fumble of the game last week.
The Eagles quarterback doesn’t look too thrilled here

I can understand why Hurts would be a little ticked off doing these drills. When you get to this level of football, I doubt running through these types of drills rarely happens during the regular season. Nevertheless, I actually like that the coaching staff had Hurts and his teammates do this.
The Eagles have turned the ball over far too frequently this season. They’ve committed 19 turnovers through 13 games, matching last year’s season total, and we still have four games to go. Hurts has accounted for 15 of those – 10 interceptions to five lost fumbles. He’s coughed the ball up a total of eight times, one shy of his total last season.
At the end of the day, practice is for getting better at things you’re not so good at. The Eagles aren’t all that great at holding onto the ball right now. So, you’ll do ball security drills in practice to get better. Simple.
