Colin Cowherd is slowly becoming the voice of reason for Eagles fans
As Philadelphia sports fans, we always love to dunk on national sports media pundits like Colin Cowherd, and most of the time it’s deserved. But I have a soft spot for Cowherd. And if you actually pay attention to what he says on a daily basis, especially in regards to the Eagles as of late, he makes a lot of good points.
Over the past month, the Eagles have struggled in nearly all facets of the game. Fans have taken notice obviously and have voiced their concerns, or stood outside the NovaCare Complex with signs and trash cans.
Throughout the year, Colin Cowherd has been steady on the Eagles and he’s remained positive even through their three-game slump. After yesterday’s Christmas victory, he came through with another solid take on the Birds. If you’re on the edge, this is worth a listen.

Colin Cowherd is spot on here. It’s difficult to not compare this year’s team with last year’s team, I get it. But in reality, these are two completely different teams, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Coming into the year, if you legitimately thought the road to the Super Bowl would be as easy as it was last year, you weren’t being realistic with yourself.
At the end of that clip above, Cowherd makes a very strong point on how we all got caught up in a Super Bowl shootout and forgot everything that came before it. We struggled down the stretch last year too, we just chose to forget about that.
Just take a look around the league right now. Every single team (with the exception of Baltimore because they just beat the breaks off San Fran) has some serious question marks surrounding them. Any of the contenders can be beat on any given Sunday. That includes the teams the Eagles will probably face come playoff time, like the Cowboys, Niners, or Lions.
Colin Cowherd gets a lot of shit from this fanbase, and sometimes it’s deserved. But let’s be honest with ourselves – the Eagles are going to have at least 13 wins for the second consecutive season. It would be the first time in franchise history they’ve ever done that. So let’s all take a collective deep breath and enjoy this thing, rather than trying to tear the team down every chance we get.
