Jalen Hurts postgame interview

Jalen Hurts was not a fan of the “Run the Ball” chants from Eagles fans

In case you were wondering, Jalen Hurts heard Eagles fans incessantly chanting “Run the Ball” during his team’s ugly win over the Giants. While the collective bullying seemed to work on Brian Johnson, Hurts wasn’t exactly happy with how the fans handled the situation.

Jalen Hurts had this to say when asked about the chants:

“They’re supposed to get loud for the defense, not [the offense].”

While that’s technically correct, Eagles fans can’t help ourselves when face with stupidity as pure as Brian Johnson’s offensive play calling this season. When you’re up big with a lead and the third quarter is winding down, handing it off isn’t the worst idea, especially when you have the best O Line in football and Swift as your bell cow back.

Instead, Johnson called for a pass to Dallas Goedert, who ended up slipping and allowing the ball to be picked off and returned for a touchdown. It wasn’t a bad throw by Jalen Hurts and it wasn’t even a bad play design. What it was was another moment of piss poor situational football.

Of course, the bullying worked, and Swift ended up getting some serious touches and wound up in the end zone. Eagles fans really do know ball.

Nick Sirianni heard the chants as well, so it’s obvious everyone on the sideline knows what’s up. We’ll see if that yields any changes to the game plan next week against the hapless Cardinals.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
