Javon Hargrave says 49ers practices are ‘extremely harder’ than cupcake Eagles

After starting the year 10-1, the Eagles have spiraled out of control, dropping five of their final six games and limping into the postseason at 11-6.

In doing so, Philadephia became the first team since 1986 to start 10-1 or better and not reach 12 wins — a truly historic collapse.

The Eagles played with fire all season, edging out close victories while blowing multiple-possession leads, and finally got burned in Week 13 against San Francisco. The 49ers capitalized on Philadelphia’s weaknesses, handing them a 42-19 ass-whooping. The Eagles never recovered.

DT Javon Hargrave was one of Philly’s key free agent losses last offseason, signing a four-year, $84 million deal with the 49ers. Hargrave has refrained from trash-talking his former team up until today.

On a recent episode of Third and Long with DT Arik Armstead, Hargrave stated that 49ers practices are “extremely harder” and “much more demanding” than the Eagles.

“It’s extremely hard at practice here, more demanding… I think it’s more so like the Golden State coaching & Miami Heat (comparison) — over here it’s the Miami Heat, over there it’s Golden State because it’s more relaxed, you chilling… over here, na it’s work everyday … Everyday you’re about to get it.

I feel like Kyle is Pat Riley, you know what you’re getting over here… When I first got here I was looking at this kinda crazy, some of the stuff we were doing, I was like I can’t believe y’all doing all this right now… A war every day.”

So Nick Sirianni has been running powderpuff practices, eh? Not a good look.

If you’ve been forcibly watching Eagles football over the last two months, then you likely agree with Hargrave to an extent. Players have looked unprepared and unmotivated, with Nick Sirianni’s leadership being called into question.

Despite hitting rock bottom, Philadelphia heads into Wild Card weekend as road favorites against Tampa Bay, who managed to win the NFC South to clinch a home playoff game.

Chad Ochocinco claims the Eagles have been ‘playing possum’ for six weeks and will dominate in the postseason — we’ll see if that holds any merit on Monday night.
