Leaked? Pictures of rumored Phillies’ Nike City Connect Jersey posted on eBay and Twitter

It looks like we may have an official leak of the Philadelphia Phillies 2024 Nike City Connect Jerseys.

Nike and Major League Baseball imposed a “4+1” rule that requires all teams to only have four uniforms PLUS a City Connect uniform. 

Earlier this year, it was announced that the Phillies, in order to make room for the City Connect jersey, would no longer be wearing their road alternate red uniforms. 

Back in late December, it was rumored that the Phillies’ 2024 Nike City Connect jerseys would feature the color scheme of Philadelphia’s flag. At the time I wrote a post about it, questioning if the Phillies were really that dumb to make the City Connect jerseys the colors of the Philly flag and by the looks of it, the answer is yes.

Obviously, I have zero clue if these are the actual jerseys but earlier this morning while scrolling through Twitter, I stumbled across this tweet featuring a Zack Wheeler jersey that was posted on eBay.

Few reasons why I think this is legit
1. This jersey is in the new Nike “limited” template for baseball in 2024
2. MLB and Nike logos are correct which counterfeit jerseys usually get wrong

I will say, if that does turn out to be the jersey, they aren’t as bad as I expected…?

The font is absolutely horrible. I’m not even sure what to say about it out of the fact it looks like the fake, high-fraud orders that flood the queue at Ninja Transfers. 

The only saving grace is the way they used the Philadelphia flag color scheme and really, that’s only a positive because of how stupid the blue and yellow flag is in the first place. 

As for the “LOVE” patch logo on the sleeve, that’s certainly up for debate too. I understand that sports teams in the city are all in on the “Brotherly Love” concept these days (Sixers City Connect) but at the same time, I feel like we have beaten that horse into dust at this point. 

Nike definitely went “on brand” if these turn out to be the actual City Connect uniforms for the Phillies. To date, I can’t name one that turned out good but maybe having them standout and having people comment about them on social media was the main goal all along. 

We’ll see if this “leak” actually turns out to be the real jersey. I would guess that it will be something similar based off previous information and all the details listed above.
