Peyton Manning endorses hire of new Eagles’ offensive coordinator Kellen Moore

It’s safe to say the Philadelphia Eagles have done everything in their power to rewrite all their coaching wrongs this past season with the hiring of both Vic Fangio and Kellen Moore.

It’s very telling when you have former players or even current players/coaches praising a staff move.

Peyton Manning, arguably one of the top-five players ever to play quarterback, spoke to the media at the Pro Bowl this past Sunday to give his opinion on the Eagles’ hiring Kellen Moore.

“I like Kellen,” Manning said. “Obviously, I’ve known Kellen since he was in college, and he came down to our football camp. We’ve stayed in touch, and look, I think he’s a good player-caller.

You know, changes are a part of the offseason every single year, but I think Jalen will like playing for him, and I like Nick’s system, so I imagine there’s some sort of hybrid of what Nick wants to do and what Kellen wants to do and as long as you’re working together on that, then I think it’s gotta be focused around Jalen and what he likes and I think it’s a good hire for the Eagles.”

We shall see if Manning’s assessment of Moore holds up, but you’d have a hard time finding a more legit stamp of approval.

I don’t think enough was made of how attractive this position was on the Eagles heading into the offseason. The opportunity to design an offense around Jalen Hurts, that offensive line, AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, & Dallas Goedert is arguably the best opportunity for any play-caller out there. I don’t care what hot-take sports talk shows have to say about the Eagles organization and Nick Sirianni. It’s football at the end of the day, and actions/results speak much louder than words.

I was told nobody would want to coach in this current Eagles structure. Boy, were those people wrong. You could argue Philly had the two best coordinator additions this offseason in the entire NFL. Obviously, we have to see how this thing plays out, but it looks like the birds are off to an excellent start to their offseason.
