The Las Vegas Sphere displayed the Eagles championship ring leading up to Super Bowl LVIII
Super Bowl LVIII week is well underway, and I’m still disappointed the Eagles are sitting at home and not in Las Vegas (well, some of them at least). Even with the team well out of the playoffs, the city still bent the knee to the 2017 Super Bowl champs by lighting up the skyline with the Birds’ Super Bowl LII ring.
The Las Vegas Sphere was a sight to see during Super Bowl week:
Honestly, I thought the Las Vegas Sphere was pretty corny, and still kind of do, but this level of pandering is enough to tickle the pleasure centers of my feeble ape brain. I feel like George in Of Mice and Men right before Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purdy killed him with their bare hands.
I could be conflating that story and my reoccurring nightmares, but nobody reads books anymore anyway so I think I’m in the clear on this one.
Sure, I know the Sphere showed every Super Bowl on the massive spherical screen, but let me have this one. It’s been a rough couple of months in Philly, you heartless bastards.
