The Disrespect Continues: Chris Simms calls Jalen Hurts “the most overrated player in football”
Chris Simms has a Jalen Hurts problem. I know it, we know it, and even he seems to know it. What we don’t know, on the other hand, is why he continues to die on the hill of his anti-Hurts takes over and over and over again.
Chris Simms felt the need to embarrass himself once again, calling Jalen Hurts “the most overrated player in football”:
“I respect a lot about Jalen Hurts, but I think Jalen Hurts is also like the most overrated player in football…He plays QB for a team that’s an all-star team.”

Consistency and commitment to the bit are something I can respect, but this has just gotten out of hand at this point. I’ve never seen anyone with a platform like his be so repeatedly wrong about a player and not eventually pivot to something else.
It’s especially confusing because Simms is no more than a nepo baby who had a middling NFL career, the biggest highlight of which was a clip of him totally failing to understand Jon Gruden’s playbook. I’m not saying you have to be the best football player of all time to criticize an NFL player; if you did, I’d be out of a job.
But acting as though you’re some authority on QBs when you have zero track record as a player or analyst to warrant that is a little nuts to me. And it’s clear I’m not in the minority.
Just look at this clown. This is the guy calling Hurts overrated?

What makes this even more disgusting is that it’s on an Arizona Cardinals podcast. Hearing Kyler Murray’s name made me physically recoil. I get you have to play to the audience of the show you’re on, but this is nasty work from Simms.
Literally nobody cares about the Cardinals. Even when they’re good, which they’re not, they’re not a relevant franchise in any way, shape, or form.
