The deal is for one year and can be worth up to $2.5 million if his incentives are hit.

Burks, 28, appeared in 15 games for San Francisco last season, totaling 46 tackles, three tackles for loss, and one sack. As a former third-round pick, Burks was seen a starter early on in his career. Thus far, he hasn’t materialized into a mainstay in any linebacker room he’s been in. Nevertheless, he’s a great special teams player, and that’s the role he’ll likely play in Philly as well.

The Eagles have now signed three linebackers this offseason – Zack Baun, Devin White, and now Oren Burks. Howie Roseman has clearly prioritized the position this offseason, at least more than he has in past years. There’s still some work to do there, however, given the fact that none of these guys were brought here on long-term deals and will have to earn their spots during training camp.
