Scott, 28, appeared in all 17 games for the Cincinnati Bengals last season with 10 starts. He totaled 57 combines tackles, one for a loss, and one fumble recovery. In pass coverage, he left a lot to be desired, surrendering a 66.7% completion percentage and 99.6 passer rating when targeted. The year prior, he was even worse, giving up four touchdowns while allowing a completion percentage of 79.3% and a passer rating of 118.5.
So, why are the Eagles interested?
The main reason – they are going to need extra depth at the safety position with Sydney Brown still recovering from a torn ACL. He’s also a local kid, growing up in Lancaster, PA – so he has that going for him.
This would not be a signing that moves the needle much for the Eagles secondary. Think more Justin Evans here than Justin Simmons.
Nevertheless, signing him to a one-year deal for depth purposes wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.
