Charles Barkley has made a new enemy: Galveston, Texas
Charles Barkley is no stranger to taking on entire cities on national television. If you’re an NBA fan, you know he’s picked fights with San Antonio for having “Big Ole Women” and Phoenix for the stale popcorn in the stadium. But the Chuckster has set his sights on a new foe: Galveston, Texas.
Charles Barkley was so fed up with the Pelicans that he said they don’t deserve a flight to Cancun and should have to drive to Galveston instead:

There really is just something special about a Chuckster insult. The disrespect cascades from one sentence to the next in a way that only he can do.
“That dirty ass water be washed up on the shore and people think they at the beach,” is pure poetry. You know it’s hilarious when Shaq is keeled over laughing, he’s always ready to hate on Chuck.
Plus, if I’m a member of the New Orleans Pelicans, this probably hurts more than a first-round playoff exit. Like, damn, Chuck. You’re sending us to Galveston. God damn.
I’m sure some of you are sat there thinking, “What an odd choice. I bet Chuck hasn’t even been to Galveston.” Well, guess again, buddy. He was there as a member of the Rockets
Chuck: "Everybody was great to me in Galveston, but your beach was dirty as hell." 😭

At least this beef has nothing to do with the people down there (or the size of their women, for that matter). The people are great, but that dirty-ass water is just too much for Charles to bear.
“I remember y’all taking great care of me down in Galveston, I just couldn’t go on the beach. I didn’t have no steel-toe boots.”
Damn. Brutal assessment from the Chuckster here. I wouldn’t be surprised if this tanks the city’s tourism industry the way Sideways tanked merlot sales.
