NFL Rumors: Eagles expected to try recent signing at new position
After not taking a developmental tackle in last week’s draft, the Eagles signed former first-round pick Mekhi Becton to a one-year deal.
Although Becton has played exclusively at the tackle position throughout his career, Philadelphia is expected to try him at guard this summer, per Geoff Mosher of Inside The Birds.

Jeff Stoutland lobbied for Becton getting signed to Philly & looks like he wants to make him into an OL weapon & find a true fit along this line for him now.

Becton was selected No. 11 overall by the Jets in the 2020 NFL Draft and had a promising start as a rookie left tackle. He suffered injuries in 2021 and 2022, missing back-to-back seasons before playing all 16 games in 2023.
Becton, 6-7, 364 pounds, would be one of the biggest guards to ever play the position. He hasn’t shown the agility or quickness to play inside at his frame, but if anyone can extract talent from offensive linemen, it’s Jeff Stoutland.
Second-year player Tyler Steen, veteran Matt Hennessy, and fifth-round pick Trevor Keegan will also be in the mix at right guard.
