Stan Van Gundy says he’s not drafting Harrison Butker in fantasy football this year because of commencement speech remarks
Former NBA coach turned media commentator Stan Van Gundy isn’t new to the hot take game. Time and time again, he’s stood on his pedestal and preached to people about his thoughts on society and the current political climate.
For some reason, he thinks we give a shit about anything he says. Nobody does, but sadly, he continues to say stupid things. His latest take involves the recently controversial figure, Harrison Butker, who gave a commencement speech a few weeks back. During the speech, he said numerous things that I don’t agree with regarding women. But unlike Stan Van Gundy, I don’t feel the need to talk about it.
On the latest episode of Dan Le Batard’s show, Van Gundy let his opinion on Butker be known. Among other things, he announced that he will not be drafting Butker as his kicker for fantasy football this year — something I’m not sure Butker will be able to come back from.

Here’s the thing, you don’t need to have an opinion about everything. You can disagree with everything Butker said during his speech. We just don’t need to hear about it. You can have an opinion in private, it doesn’t need to be public knowledge.
Stan Van Gundy doesn’t know anything about that, though. You’re going to know what he thinks about something — whether you want to or not.
