Madden mistakingly makes Cooper DeJean the wrong skin color in new beta footage
With another NFL season on the horizon comes the latest edition of EA Sports’ Madden franchise.
The annual release will feature new signings and rookies who are embarking on their first year in the pros, including Eagles CB Cooper DeJean. Unfortunately for DeJean, Madden won’t let him be great.
Screenshots of Madden’s early beta footage circulated on the internet Friday, with images of DeJean portraying him as a black player.

Wow, Madden doesn’t believe in white defensive backs? Unreal.
In reality, it’s just a beta build of the game — Madden will update player scans and likeness after development.
If we’re being honest, nobody will be playing this garbage anyway once College Football 25 drops in July. It’s still hilarious, though.
Bring Glory Home.
