Sad: Matthew Stafford’s wife says she dated his backup in college just to piss him off

Fellas — if your girl ever dates people in close proximity to you just to piss you off, she might not be the one. For Matthew Stafford, however, that woman is his current wife whom he has four daughters with.

In a recent podcast clip from a podcast I’ve never heard of, Stafford’s wife revealed that she dated his backup QB in college just to piss him off and in turn, make him want her more. It’s sad, but more often than not, this kind of fuckery typically gets the job done. Especially when you’re in your early 20’s.

For the record, the Tweet that accompanies the video is misleading. Matthew Stafford’s wife never actually says she slept with the backup QB. She just says that she dated him.

The replies are riddled with people defending her, pointing to the fact that she doesn’t actually say she banged the guy. Sadly, that’s probably what Stafford tells himself too. If a woman is willing to date your backup just to piss you off, chances are she’s sleeping with him too. It’s simple math. Woman dates man (a guy that Stafford’s wife claims was an asshole in the clip, mind you), woman sleeps with man, woman gets good man jealous, leaves bad man for good man. It’s a tale as old as time itself.

For the sake of this argument, let’s just say Stafford’s wife didn’t actually sleep with the backup and they just dated — why would you brag about that on a podcast over 10 years later? Man or woman, that’s weird behavior. I mean, don’t you feel kinda shitty for doing that? You can fall back on, “well, it all worked out in the end!” But, as wise men have been saying for years, people don’t forget!

Not a very smart move to put this out into the social media ecosystem from Stafford’s wife. People are going to run with it and think differently of Stafford — whether you slept with the guy or not.
