Dave Portnoy Phillies World Series

Barstool Sports Dave Portnoy places $200K on the Phillies to win the World Series, officially the second best thing he could do in the city of Philadelphia in 2024

Barstool Sports head honcho Dave Portnoy placed a $200,000 wager on the Philadelphia Phillies to win the 2024 World Series last night, following the end of a historic win streak at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers who failed to comeback from a 3-0 series deficit in the Stanley Cup Finals with a Game 7 loss to the Florida Panthers, 2-1.

Dave Portnoy wagers $200,000 on the Philadelphia Phillies to win the 2024 World Series

This is the second smartest move that Dave Portnoy could make in the city of Philadelphia. The first would obviously be buying The Liberty Line and letting our crew run “Barstool Philly”.

Dave Portnoy: Your Philly team already takes half our content and t-shirt designs anyways and when real fans comment on their social media posts telling them that we do it better, they are deleted and blocked. Is that really “standing on business”.

That’s not even including the six figure deal I tried to hand you on a silver platter during the Pandemic via a custom apparel company here in Philly, only to have multiple meetings with your advertising team and to be told via email 10 minutes before a phone call to finalize it was a “conflict of interest” – before they went zero dark thirty on our email communication.

Get it together dude. That $200K bet on The Fightins could have easily been $400K if your “business team” had half a brain.

The New York office is in shambles. Why not head down the NJ Turnpike to Philly and let’s setup shop. Add The Liberty Line to the ship and bring on another million+ page views a month?

We’ll bring home the World Series together and pop champagne bottles until the Eagles are parading down Broad Street after a 2024-25 Super Bowl win.

Am I ever happy with a rat from Boston looking for a payday from a Philadelphia sports team? Of course not, but Portnoy’s track record with identifying winners is unmatched.

Even the mega-popular vodka soda beverage High Noon has exploded under the marketing wing of Dave Portnoy and Barstool Sports.

Would I recommend drinking it?

Nope.

I definitely would not.

Instead, I keep things Philly with our very own Two Robbers. Real fruit sourced from real farms. High quality wheat distilled vodka. Other brands simply cannot compete.

Note: High Noons are made with corn vodka and “flavored” with fruits. No bueno. I’m no scientist but pour one of those High Noons into a glass and see for yourself.

Spoiler Alert: High Noons pour clear without a hint of fruit was used. Pour a Two Robbers? You’re getting exactly what you expected.

Now THAT is accountability, folks.

Don’t tell 94.1 WIP, specifically Spike Eskin. He attended his first baseball game last week and then went on an embarrassing rant about Harper yesterday on the radio. Oddly enough, reports of Philly fans scheduling emergency otolaryngologist appointments last night because of brain and ear bleeding skyrocketed.

Spike Eskin goes on insane rant telling fans to ‘hold Bryce Harper accountable’

Coincidence? Maybe – but they continued today after 94.1’s resident court jester Joe Giglio started debating if Bryce Harper was going to be the “best Philadelphia athlete in history” just a few months after he said that Harper has “never sniffed 30 home runs with the Phillies” and that “the Phillies are not championship contenders”.

Anyways, say what you want about Dave Portnoy but he’s been on an absolute heater in 2024. Check out these wins. I’m not a math guy but these will definitely line the pockets.

That’s an impressive run – maybe one of the best in history considered there are a bunch of other six figure wins under Portnoy this year – including a Scottie Scheffler win at the Travelers Championship last weekend for $180K.

Anyways, with last night’s beatdown in Detroit, the Phillies improved to an MLB-best 52-26 on the season. They are 6-4 over their last 10 games and are back to a 8-game stranglehold on the Atlanta Braves for the National League East division lead.

Bryce Harper and Alec Bohm are hotter than the weather across the Delaware Valley over the past week while the rotation and bullpen continue to dominate any opposing hitter that steps up to the plate.

Bryce Harper held accountable in 5 RBI performance against the Detroit Tigers, Phillies win 8-1

unfiltered, opinionated, and certainly do not care if you like it or not.
