WATCH: Shohei Ohtani makes obscene gesture after stealing second, leaving baseball fans disgusted

On a beautiful summer evening in the city of Brotherly Love, the Philadelphia Phillies welcomed the most dominant player in Major League Baseball, Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers to Citizens Bank Park for game two of a three game set.

In the top of the first inning, Ohtani stole second base on Garrett Stubbs and as he got to his feet, removed his left batting glove and ferociously started moving his right hand in a back and forward motion near his private parts.

The video immediately went viral on social media and had fans wondering what in the world the MLB Poster Boy was doing.

Shohei Ohtani’s strange gesture after stealing second could make even the hardest Phillies fan blush:

Don’t get me wrong, me and everyone else here in Philly love a good team celebration. The Fightins are out there doing the “big balls” celly and we just watched Bryce Harper “hawk tuah” and spit on that thang a few weeks back.

And don’t get me started on the “Sketch Celly” – after recent news of his past life (nbd) Harper re-enacting the “Brother Celly” was given a whole new meaning.

With Ohtani, it’s slightly different. The face of the MLB steals 2nd off Stubbs, stares directly into his dugout, and out of any celebration he could do, he decides to go for what I’m going to call “The Punisher” by reenacting a gesture that could only be viewed as a man “relieving himself.”

I like to think that Shohei Ohtani, a known rat and “gambling man” was simply paying his debt with this celly. I saw it and was immediately reminded that Ohtani is not my superstar in The Show. That belongs to Bryce Harper and Bryce Harper only. This dude is out there jerking it like he just lost a parlay or fantasty football bet with the boys. Unacceptable.

Maybe this is just a Los Angeles thing?

This isn’t the first time the Dodgers organization has been questioned for their odd celebrations. Mookie Betts, after hitting a home run, celebrated in the dugout with several other teammates pretending to “jerk off” while being bukkake’d by other men. I know it sounds graphic when you write it out but my god, check this video.

I mean seriously, where’s Shohei Ohtani’s interpreter when you need him?

There’s no possible way his old friend and certified fall guy, Ippei Mizuhara would have let this happened right?

I guess Shohei Ohtani can sleep well at night knowing Rob Manfred and the rest of the MLB Front Office won’t even bat an eye over his disgusting celly. In fact, they probably took it a step further and actually did the act while watching the clip go viral on social media.

Ohtani, a cash show for Major League Baseball is untouchable, regardless of any type of hand motions done on the baseball diamond.

Hopefully, for everyone’s sake, especially the little girls who are baseball fans around the world, this celebration is 1 and done. I speak for a lot of people when I say the Dodgers should retire this one immediately, even more so after dropping the first two games against the MLB-best Philadelphia Phillies.

Boys will be boys of course but on a national level, some things need to be considered. This won’t cut it from the frauds out in L.A. Thankfully here in Philly, we understand that the National League East runs through Citizens Bank Park in October.

  1. He was shaking the dirt out of his glove. Dirt got pushed into the glove during his slide.

  2. He wasn’t shaking the dirt out of his glove. What a lame excuse for a disrespectful player who should have been banned from baseball.
