It happened. Bryce Harper and his iconic ‘RIP Harambe’ bat knob baseball card has finally been discovered. Posh Sports recently hit Bryce Harper’s 1-of-1 “RIP Harambe” bat knob in 2024 Topps Tier One Baseball – one of the most coveted cards in the collection.
1-of-1: Bryce Harper RIP Harambe Bat Knob Baseball Card
For those unfamiliar, back in 2016, Harambe made headlines across the world after he was tragically murdered when a 3-year-old boy fell into his enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo.
The controversy surrounding Harambe’s death went mega-viral across social media. From debates on animal rights, zoo safety, to questioning the responsibility of the parents and the decision to kill Harambe, the internet went nuts creating memes, videos, and artwork featuring the 17-year old western lowland gorilla.
Harambe was even humorously considered as a write-in candidate for the 2016 U.S. presidential election and made his way onto the knob of Bryce Harper’s baseball bat, which fans caught a glimpse of during batting practice as the Washington Nationals prepared themselves for Game 5 of the 2016 NLDS against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Note: Harambe didn’t help Harper and the Nats. They lose 4-3 to the Dodgers and were eliminated from the playoffs.
According to reports, if the Bryce Harper “RIP Harambe” bat knob comes to market, it would easily sell for thousands.
