Report: Eagles sign former Commanders, Giants OL, release CB
The Eagles are adding more depth along their offensive line.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, former Commanders and Giants lineman Nick Gates is signing to Philadelphia’s 90-man roster.

In a corresponding move, the Eagles have released CB Mario Goodrich.
Gates, 28, started 10 of the 13 games for Washington last season and started 29 of 44 games while with the Giants. The veteran has played every position along the OL throughout his career except left tackle.
The Eagles are dealing with several injuries on the interior, with Tyler Steen (ankle) and Landon Dickerson (leg) missing time in training camp. Mekhi Becton and Trevor Keegan have filled in as replacements.
Mario Goodrich went undrafted in 2022 and spent time with the Eagles practice squad before cracking the 53-man roster last season. He struggled when on the field, however, and the surplus of talent at corner this summer made him expendable.
