Caitlin Clark receives high praise from NBA Hall of Famer amidst historic WNBA rookie season
Caitlin Clark achieved another milestone on Sunday, guiding the Indiana Fever to a 92-75 victory over the Seattle Storm. Her accomplishment drew high praise from an NBA Hall of Famer.
Clark recorded 23 points, 9 assists, and 5 rebounds in the Fever’s win at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. She broke Ticha Penicheiro’s record for the most assists by a rookie in WNBA history with those assists.
Isiah Thomas, who is well-acquainted with the art of assisting teammates, had a fantastic response to Clark’s recent achievement.

Thomas, widely regarded as one of the greatest point guards in NBA history, is a two-time NBA champion who averaged 19.2 points and 9.3 assists per game during his illustrious career with the Detroit Pistons. He currently ranks 10th on the NBA’s all-time assists list.
Caitlin Clark has now accumulated 232 assists this season, with 12 regular-season games still to play. With Penicheiro’s record of 224 assists already surpassed, Clark is on track to extend that mark even further by season’s end.
Despite being hit with a questionable technical foul, Sunday was still a great day for Clark, especially with the added bonus of receiving a major compliment from a Hall of Famer.
