WATCH: Tyreek Hill hits handcuff TD celebration hours after being detained by Miami-Dade PD
Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill had himself quite the NFL Sunday. News broke before kickoff that Miami-Dade PD detained him for a traffic violation. Fortunately, he could still suit up and play in the game, even scoring a touchdown and hitting one of the early contenders for celebration of the year.
Tyreek Hill’s handcuffs celebration was 100% worth the potential fine:

And, in case you missed it, here’s the video of him face-down on the pavement over a minor traffic violation before kickoff. Because, yeah, that makes sense to do.
Tyreek Hill should not have been forcibly driven to the ground, handcuffed and handled so aggressively for a minor traffic violation heading into the stadium before the game. Period. @cheetah pic.twitter.com/Gnu1mrIuUD

Hill gets top marks from me for that celebration. The elegance is in the simplicity.
Also, what the hell is going on with local PDs and pro athletes this year? This is oddly reminiscent of Scottie Scheffler’s run-in with an overzealous and incompetent officer in Louisville before the PGA Championship.
We don’t know the exact offense or events that transpired before he was detained, but I don’t think it’s relevant. If it were really serious, he’d probably have been arrested and taken in to get processed.
Instead, we were given the gift of an absolutely hilarious TD celebration. As far as mt personal favorites go, that’s up there with DeVonta Smith stealing from the Salvation Army bucket after scoring against the Cowboys on Christmas.
Unfortunately for me, I had a First TD scorer parlay that Hill wrecked singlehandedly. Of course, I can’t be mad. A slow start after being handcuffed the same day is excusable in my book.
