WATCH: Eagles fans give Marcus Spears a warm ‘South Philly Welcome’ during Monday Night Countdown
No matter who the opponent is, you can always count on Eagles fans to make their hate of the Dallas Cowboys known. Monday in South Philadelphia was no different.
Former Dallas Cowboys player and now ESPN broadcaster Marcus Spears learned that the hard way during the broadcast of Monday Night Countdown from the parking lots at Lincoln Financial Field.

Spears played nine seasons in the NFL, eight of them with the Dallas Cowboys.
Heading into the 2005 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys were sitting pretty with two first-round picks. Head coach Bill Parcells had his eye on Marcus Spears, a standout defensive end from LSU, and saw him as the key to transitioning the defense to a 3–4 scheme.
In Parcells’ mind, Spears was the guy to take with their first selection at 11th overall. But owner and known creep Jerry Jones had other ideas. Jerry Jones knew that DeMarcus Ware, out of Troy, wouldn’t be available much longer, so he overruled Parcells and took Ware instead.
The Cowboys then used their 20th overall pick to grab him, securing two major pieces for their defense in the first round. While Ware went on to have a Hall of Fame career, Spears became a solid contributor on that Cowboys D-line.
Fun story. Dallas Still Sucks. Go Birds.
