WNBA’s Michael Jordan: Caitlin Clark gets screwed out of unanimous Rookie Of The Year
Just so we’re all clear, Caitlin Clark is the WNBA’s version of Michael Jordan. As the official, certified, Caitlin clark journalist for this site, I must step in following the news today.
As of today, the Indiana Fever phenom officially won the WNBA Rookie of the Year Award. However, she was just one vote shy of winning it unanimously. There were a total of 67 votes, in which 66 of those went to Clark. The outlier vote went to Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese.
I can’t help but wonder who is the one responsible for stopping history. I would guess Megan Rapinoe based off the blog I wrote yesterday, but that would be giving her far too much credibility. Nonetheless, this is another example of the “W” doing a poor job marketing their savior.

This just feels like a crime, especially being the basketball purist that I am. We’re talking about a player who not only led a garbage team to the playoffs, but also set a new standard for rookies across the board. Not only did she meet expectations, but she shattered them.
Caitlin Clark played in all 40 games, led all rookies in points, assists, steals, and minutes. On the flip side, for the jackass that voted for Angel Reese, her team missed the playoffs and finished with a record worse than they had last season.
If I were to accurately pinpoint who this could have been, I think we would all start with someone within Nike. For those not familiar with the situation, basically the flagship brand of basketball has not made one commercial for the face of the WNBA. Not to mention they haven’t even her a signature shoe. What on earth are we doing?
Anyways, I must reinstate that I mean no disrespect to the many talented women who play in the WNBA. And while Angel Reese is essentially the Andre Drummond of women’s basketball, and A’Ja Wilson is a true dominant force in her own right, the fans simply care more about Caitlin Clark. At this point maybe I’ll just start my own signature merchandise collection here on TheLibertyLine and offer the best service to the best women’s basketball fans in the world. You know, since Nike, and the “W” are doing such a poor job.
