Soft: Dodgers and Padres continue to fight like children, Dave Roberts cries wolf in Manny Machado dugout-baseball incident

Manny Machado versus Dave Roberts? Definitely not the rivalry we saw coming.

Game 2 of the NLDS between the Padres and Dodgers turned into a hotbed of drama at Dodger Stadium.

It all started when Padres outfielder Jurickson Profar made a highlight-reel grab, stealing a home run from Mookie Betts.

Profar had a little fun with the Dodgers fans after that, but it didn’t take long for things to get ugly.

Fans started throwing objects at both Profar and Fernando Tatis Jr., and that set the tone for what was unfolded later in the game.

After the sixth inning, Manny Machado allegedly tossed a baseball toward the Dodgers’ dugout, apparently aimed at Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. The throw sparked a heated back-and-forth between Machado and Dodgers starter Jack Flaherty, who had just hit Tatis earlier in the game.

I highly doubt Flaherty or Machado met in the parking lot postgame…lol

Roberts addressed the incident in a press conference the following day, saying, “I didn’t notice at the time… I did see the video. It was unsettling… There was intent behind it. It didn’t almost hit me because there was a net. And that was very bothersome.”

Pretty insane that Dave Roberts “didn’t want to make assumptions” while also acting like Manny Machado just murdered his first born, right?

The presser came out before Jomboy finally dropped a video of the incident and let me tell you, if this is what Dave Roberts was crying about on the podium, then the National League West is even softer than initially thought.

Manny Machado’s Henious Act Towards The Dodgers Dugout…

Machado obviously brushed it off, explaining that he was chirping at Flaherty for plunking Tatis- which makes perfect sense. Tatis was having a stellar game, going 2-for-2 with a home run and a double before getting hit by a pitch.

He also was giving Dodgers fans absolute hell in the outfield all game and while I’m definitely not a Tatis or Padres fan, the videos were pretty damn funny.

As for the game itself, the Padres blew it wide open late, scoring six runs in the final two innings to secure a 10-2 win and even up the series. With tensions high, this NLDS matchup just got a lot more interesting.

unfiltered, opinionated, and certainly do not care if you like it or not.
