Lithuanian Eagles fan delivers message to Philadelphia via the new Portal
People like to joke that Eagles fans are everywhere, but the new Portal in Love Park has proven it’s legitimately true.
An Eagles fan in Lithuania held up a piece of paper reading “GO BIRDS,” proving Birds fans are literally worldwide:
I’ve been at the Philly Portal for 30 minutes and it’s amazing. A guy in Lithuania approached the camera, unfolded a piece of paper and it said “GO BIRDS.” The way we all screamed! pic.twitter.com/7PG6fcjVGU

I’ll be honest, as The Liberty Line’s international correspondent, I’m not the least bit surprised. You could be anywhere in the world and meet a Birds fan.
I’ve had a couple of run-in with international fans. I was on a tram in Prague and spotted an old Czech man in an Eagles cap. he spoke no English, so I asked him in wildly broken Czech if he likes the team or just the hat. He points to the hat with a huge smile and goes “I love the Eagles.”
I couldn’t ask any follow up questions because he spoke pretty much zero English, but the moment is something I’ll cherish forever.
A few months later I was on a bar crawl in Krakow, Poland and met these Norwegian dudes in line for the bathroom. I told them I was from Philadelphia and they immediately broke into “Fly Eagles Fly.” A few double vodka Red Bulls later and they’re telling me “Carson Wentz is the real deal.”
This was in the spring of 2019, so their optimism was more than justified, but even still it was a surreal experience. It just goes to show if you look hard enough, or, really, not very hard at all, you’ll find a Birds fan.
Hell, you could be deep in the Amazon and stumble upon an uncontacted tribe and you’d still probably find a rabid Eagles fan. Sure, there’s a chance they’re a devotee of an ancient deity in the image of the esteemed harpy eagle, but an eagle is an eagle as far as I’m concerned.
