Kyle Schwarber will be this week’s guest picker ESPN College GameDay in Bloomington, Indiana
Kyle Schwarber is headed back to where it all began this Saturday—Bloomington, Indiana. The Phillies slugger is returning to Indiana University, not for a baseball game, but to play the role of celebrity guest picker on ESPN’s College GameDay.
Schwarber will be on set before the day’s big matchup between the 13th-ranked Hoosiers and the Washington Huskies.

Schwarber knows a thing or two about football. He was a standout linebacker during his high school days in Ohio before ultimately choosing baseball. And it’s safe to say that was a wise decision.
During his time with the Hoosiers, Schwarber made a name for himself as one of the best hitters in college baseball. He was a two-time first-team All-American, slashing .341 over his career with 40 homers.
He ranks among IU’s top 10 in hits (238), runs (182), and slugging percentage (.607). In 2013, he helped lead the Hoosiers to their first-ever trip to the College World Series.
By 2014, he became the highest draft pick in the program’s history when the Cubs snagged him with the fourth overall pick.
Fast forward to today, and Schwarber’s power at the plate hasn’t slowed down. He’s clubbed 284 home runs in the big leagues, recently passing fellow Hoosier alum Ted Kluszewski’s mark of 279 for the most by an Indiana product in MLB history.
Now he’ll be back in Bloomington for the first time since claiming that record, this time swapping the bat for a microphone as he reppin’ the Hoosiers on college football’s biggest pregame show.
