Roster Moves: Eagles bring back familiar face on defense, release QB from practice squad
The Philadelphia Eagles made a couple of roster moves ahead of Thursday’s practice.
Per the team’s announcement, the Eagles have signed DE Tarron Jackson to the practice squad and released QB Will Grier.

Jackson was initially drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL draft and appeared in every game for Philadelphia during his rookie season.
After failing to crack the final roster this past summer, Jackson was released and picked up by Carolina, where he logged 28 snaps on defense. The Panthers waived Jackson on October 15.
The Eagles were looking into pass-rushers before the trade deadline, so bringing back a player who spent time with DC Vic Fangio makes sense. Jackson recorded one sack and two tackles for loss with Philadelphia during the preseason.
Will Grier was signed last offseason to help the other quarterbacks learn Kellen Moore’s system. Grier spent two seasons (2021, 2022) with Moore in Dallas.
Tarron Jackson (now in Year 4) only played 54 defensive snaps this preseason (averaged about 130 previous 3 preseasons)

Have to imagine he's on the team w/ that workload. With BG, Huff, Sweat, Smith, Jalyx Hunt… That's 6 at EDGE pic.twitter.com/B1ivYciVI8
