Saquon Barkley Backwards Hurdle

Shocker: Saquon Barkley was drug tested after backwards hurdle against the Jaguars

Saquon Barkley hit up the “Air It Out” podcast, and shocker— right after that insane backwards hurdle against the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend at The Linc, the NFL called him in for a drug test.

Honestly, if the NFL hadn’t stepped in, we’d probably have more questions than answers at this point so for this specific case, I actually agree that tests needed to be done.

Saquon Barkley: “I got drug tested right after”

Barkley just did something out there that’s barely believable. On a field full of elite athletes, he pulled off a move that looked straight out of a video game so really, we should forget a regular drug test and brought him in to be studied by a team of Olympic anti-doping experts, or a group of biomechanics professors, right?

The backwards hurdle was something straight out of a Cirque du Soleil show and everyone would be doing themselves a favor by trying to analyze exactly how he managed to do it.

Saquon Barkley: Backwards Hurdle

I mean come on. It’s not shocking to assume there had to be something wild fueling that leap, right? Maybe adrenaline, or maybe just enough muscle power to lift a small car. And now we’re left with the real challenge: naming this move.

“The Barkley Bounce”? Feels forced. “Saquon SuperJump”? Too cheesy. “The Leap at the Linc?” We’re not there yet. Someone get an ad exec on this—maybe a creative genius to give us a name that does this play justice.

Also worth noting, Saquon was actually thinking about a double spin move in that split-second, but went for the hurdle instead. A spin move would’ve looked great, but hurdling a defender in reverse? Christ almighty.

That’s the kind of thing that gets you on posters, t-shirts, and highlight reels for life. Defender went low, and Barkley just took to the air, pure instinct. And that fast-twitch muscle? Yeah, that’s why my football career ended in my backyard. Some people just aren’t built for the big stage.

It goes without saying, Saquon Barkley is rewriting the playbook for what’s possible on the field right before our eyes. Now all we need is a name worthy of that move, maybe a trophy, and possibly a research team to study whatever makes him fly like that.

Right now, we’ll just roll with FLY.
