Playoff Picture: How the Eagles can clinch No. 1 seed and first-round bye in NFC

With Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season in the books, the playoff picture for each conference is beginning to take shape.

The Eagles won their sixth consecutive game with a Thursday Night victory over Washington, the Lions dropped 52 points on a hopeless Jaguars team, and the Chiefs suffered their first loss at the hands of Josh Allen.

Here is the current playoff seeding as of today:

The Eagles (8-2) currently hold the No. 2 seed behind the Detroit Lions (9-1), but there is a path to claiming the top seed and everything that comes with it (first-round bye and home-field advantage).

NFC scenarios are as follows, courtesy of Deniz Selman:

Moral of the story: beating the Rams this weekend is a must. Detroit has already beaten Los Angeles, and Philadelphia would lose out in a tiebreak scenario should they lose on Sunday.

If both teams finish 15-2, Detroit would have to lose their Week 14 matchup to the Packers for Philadelphia to clinch the top seed since they defeated Green Bay earlier in the year.

We still have seven weeks of regular-season football ahead of us, but it’s fun to get the playoff juices flowing. We’ll update the clinching scenarios as the year goes on.
