Saquon Barkley speaks on Daniel Jones’ release from Giants
With the Daniel Jones era officially over in New York, the decision to not pay Saquon Barkley looks even worse.
Instead of pouring salt in the wound and saying ‘I told you so’ to the Giants, Barkley offered support for Jones when asked about his former teammate’s release.
“It sucks to see how it all went down.” Barkley told reporters. “It didn’t work for me over there, and I’m doing well over here. Hopefully, he can find the same kinda fresh start and success.”

The Giants benched Jones on Monday in favor of Tommy DeVito as protection for the organization, given the QB’s $23 million injury guarantee for 2025.
Jones never had a serviceable offensive line or star receivers during his time in New York, but it was evident that both sides needed to move on.
Barkley is in the midst of an MVP season in Philadelphia, rushing for 1,137 yards through ten games. Perhaps Jones can resurrect his career with a change of scenery.
Daniel Jones has made 16 starts since signing his $160M contract, throwing for 2,979 passing yards with ten touchdowns and 13 interceptions. His passer rating of 76.6 ranks as the sixth-lowest among quarterbacks since the start of the 2023 season.
