Goosebumps: Nick Foles talks about how impactful the home field advantage is in Philadelphia

Philadelphia fans get a lot of shit for how we carry ourselves, but no one understands us quite like Nick Foles — the Eagles legend and Super Bowl 52 MVP.

We saw all the ups and downs throughout his career. From 27 TDs and 2 INTs in 2013 to getting traded a year later to his heroic return in 2017-’18, you couldn’t have scripted Foles’ career any better.

Making an appearance at the Barstool Sports headquarters, he spoke on just how impactful the Philadelphia fans are and how they played a huge role in the huge 38-7 win in the 2018 NFC Championship.

“It made you tougher,” Nick Foles says. “It held you accountable, because you weren’t gonna go in front of a fanbase that was all lovey-dovey, which everyone thinks they’d love, but it makes you go back to work and realize, every time you step in front of these fans at The Linc, all these fans that bleed green, you better bring it. If you’re not giving everything, if you’re not executing, you’re gonna to hear about it.”

He continued by speaking specifically about the NFC Chip in 2018 and how vibrant the vibes were that day at The Linc.

“The NFC Championship game, that energy in that stadium before the game… I couldn’t even go to 7-on-7’s because the stadium was so vibrant, so loud, our players were dancing, there was so much energy that I just waited two minutes and took it all in.”

Goosebumps. Nick Foles just gets it, man. One of the best to ever do it in this city.
