New York Jets Howie Roseman

NFL insider suggests insane New York Jets move to try and acquire Eagles GM Howie Roseman

The New York Jets are a complete disaster of a franchise. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that. With every passing week, they continue to make themselves look like a bunch of idiots — on and off the field.

When you have a team that is as bad as the Jets, it invites wild theories on how to fix the franchise. Sportskeeda’s Tony Pauline threw his hat into the ring this week, suggesting that New York tries to pry Howie Roseman away from the Eagles and give him equity in the franchise.

Pauline’s insane Jets theory

A source told me that the Jets need to “think outside the box” and do something crazy such as offering Howie Roseman, the Brooklyn native who is presntly Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Philadelphia Eagles the keys to the franchise and an equity stake in the oragnization.

Sounds crazy, but it makes sense and may be necessary at this point.

Let’s just zero in on that last sentence — “Sounds crazy, but it makes sense.” Yes, it does sound crazy, and no, it does not make sense.

Roseman’s contract with Philadelphia runs through 2025, so it’s technically impossible to just offer Howie a contract this offseason. That would fall under tampering. And there’s absolutely no shot Jeffery Lurie would entertain trading him to another team.

I doubt Howie Roseman even has any desire to leave. Why would he with the roster he’s building here? Not only does have several players in the prime of their careers, he has budding stars like Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, Quinyon Mitchell, and Cooper Dejean who are still on rookie contracts.

Simply put, there’s a zero percent chance Howie leaves Philadelphia on his own. Insane to even suggest this as a possiblity.
