Cowboys Lions Embarrassing

Cowboys getting roasted without playing football is no excuse for the Lions embarrassing themselves against the Commanders

It’s almost impressive how the Dallas Cowboys can be losers without even taking the field.

Last night, the Washington Commanders punched their ticket to the NFC Championship Game with a 45-31 upset over the Detroit Lions. That leaves only the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East that has failed to make the NFC Championship since the turn of the millennium.

Quick Math: We’re talking 28-years of mediocrity and counting for Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. You’re welcome.

Cancun Cowboys getting COOKED last night on social media:

Just brutal. I don’t think it’s out of line to put the Cancun Cowboys in the same category as the New York Giants. Both these teams are bottom feeders in the NFC East yet all we ever hear about from Cowboys fans specifically is how “this year” is “our year” when back here in reality, every mid-January, they are watching at home on their couch.

I do want to be clear that while Lions fans are probably thanking the Cowboys for being such a sad and pathetic franchise, it really doesn’t excuse the fact that they just watched their football team lose in embarrassing fashion to the Washington Commanders.

Rust Belt Warning: I Tried to Tell Lions Fans

Over a month ago, I warned Lions fans that their team was nothing more than a group of dead men walking. And what did I get for my efforts? A flood of comments calling me an idiot. “You don’t know what you’re talking about.” “You’re just fishing for clicks.” “Engagement farming.” Please.

Dan Campbell’s tough guy act is getting old— the Detroit Lions and their fans should know they are dead men walking

“INSANE! TOUGH! GRITTY!” Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions made the right call by going for it on 4th down and for whatever reason, people think it was an incredible play call

It wasn’t about clicks; it was about facts.

And now? I was right. Obviously. The Lions proved me right in the most embarrassing way possible, getting torched at home by a rookie quarterback and a Commanders team that, let’s be honest, nobody thought had a shot to make it this far.

The Lions had the hype, the storyline, the chance to prove themselves as real contenders. Instead, they collapsed in classic Detroit fashion. Jared Goff looked shaky, Dan Campbell’s team was outclassed, and the Lions defense might as well have been a revolving door for Jayden Daniels and company.

Cowboys and Lions: Two Sides of the Same Sad Coin

So here we are, with the Cowboys and Lions occupying their usual roles as NFL punchlines. The Cowboys are stuck in a 28-year rut of irrelevance, and the Lions? Well, they had their chance to change the narrative and flopped harder than a fish out of water.

For Cowboys fans, maybe this is the wake-up call to stop with the annual “This is our year” nonsense. It’s not your year. It hasn’t been your year since the mid-90s. For Lions fans, maybe it’s time to admit your team isn’t as close to contender status as you think.

The Commanders are moving forward, proving they’re built to compete in January. The Eagles WILL handle business against the Los Angeles Rams and then we’ll focus on beating Washington to go to the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys and Lions are left to stew in their mediocrity. Different cities, different circumstances, same sad reality. Better luck next year—though, let’s be honest, probably not.
