Eagles Draft: Alabama star predicted to fall to Philly at No. 32 overall
The Philadelphia Eagles are riding high after capturing their second Super Bowl title in franchise history. But with victory comes the challenge of staying on top. As the offseason unfolds, the front office faces tough decisions, particularly on the defensive side of the ball, where several key players are set to hit the open market.
Eagles Eyeing Alabama’s Jihaad Campbell in NFL Draft?
With the No. 32 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, NFL.com’s Gennaro Filice predicts the Eagles will bolster their defense by selecting Alabama standout Jihaad Campbell.
“No. 32 Philadelphia Eagles: Jihaad Campbell,” Filice wrote. “Another dynamic dog just falls right into the Eagles’ lap, and we all take a familiar posture: bowing at the altar of Howie Roseman. Linebacker is the biggest offseason question mark for the Super Bowl champs. Zack Baun provided first-team All-Pro returns on a one-year, $3.5 million contract, but now he’s set to cash in on the open market.”
The Eagles also face uncertainty with Nakobe Dean, who is beginning a lengthy rehab process after tearing his patellar tendon during Wild Card Weekend. Campbell’s versatility could fill the gap. As Filice highlighted, “Campbell, who is Daniel Jeremiah’s No. 13 overall prospect, is a hybrid defender with sideline-to-sideline range and legit edge-rushing chops. Something tells me Vic Fangio would enjoy such a toy.”

Campbell’s Impressive College Resume
Campbell’s performance at Alabama speaks for itself. In 2024, he racked up:
- 5 sacks across 13 games
- 117 total tackles, showcasing his tackling prowess
- 1 interception, proving his ability in coverage
- 1 fumble recovery, highlighting his knack for creating turnovers
His combination of athleticism, football IQ, and playmaking ability makes him an ideal fit for Philadelphia’s aggressive defensive scheme.
Drafting Jihaad Campbell would give the Eagles a young, dynamic linebacker to pair with their existing defensive core. His skill set aligns perfectly with Vic Fangio’s system, and his ability to rush the passer, cover tight ends, and stop the run would address one of Philadelphia’s most pressing offseason concerns.
If Howie Roseman pulls the trigger on Campbell, it could be the kind of move that keeps the Eagles flying high in 2025 and beyond.
