Eagles Buzz: Yahoo! Sports drops crazy trade proposal to send DeVonta Smith to Miami for Jalen Ramsey

We write about a lot of Eagles trade proposals on this website, but this one may take the cake as the most insane.

Courtesy of Yahoo! Sports writer Coby Leibowitz — the Eagles should trade DeVonta Smith and their 32nd overall selection to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for Jalen Ramsey, the 13th overall pick and their second-round pick in next year’s draft.

For Howie Roseman, this trade automatically gets shut down simply because DeVonta Smith is involved. Honestly, I feel the same way. No shot I’m trading Smitty. I love him too much to let him go.

The draft compensation the Eagles would receive is substantial enough to at least give me pause before hanging up the phone, but it’s still not enough to move the needle.

Plus, I don’t even think the Birds would need to give that much up to get Ramsey if they really wanted him. He’s is 30 years old and coming off a down year. Why the hell would Howie — or any general manager — give up a superstar receiver in his prime along with a first-round pick to land Ramsey? Even with the Dolphins first-round pick this year and a second next year, it doesn’t really make any sense.

It doesn’t push Philly any closer to another Super Bowl championship. It actually lowers their chances of running it back. Stupid trade idea, this Yahoo! Sports writer clearly doesn’t know ball.
